The JAKO-O purchasing department for hardware deals with all product areas except fashion in 5 teams, i.e. for practical items, games, toys, media, learning and creativity products, furniture and sports products. There is also a product development team where a designer and a product developer work together with an assistant to create and realise our new ideas and products.

Working closely with JAKO-O product management, we provide buyers for compiling and procuring ranges, visit all of the leading trade fairs in Germany and Europe (e.g. Paperworld, Ambiente, toy fairs and book fairs) and large trade fairs in Asia. We scour the global markets for new products and trends that match up with the JAKO-O philosophy. Does the product improve life? Is it sensible and does it meet a real need? Is it long lasting and will it still be interesting after a while? Do the quality and price / performance ratio match up? Are we convinced by its function and safety? We also keep an eye on environmental friendliness, repair options and spare parts. And … we try everything out … with our own children and families that we trust! We work together with reliable suppliers that we have known for years, to buy the best possible products and we are constantly improving all processes so that enough of our products are always available on time. Together with quality management, we ensure that all of the products we sell are of the highest quality and safety. It’s also essential that products meet the necessary European regulations and guidelines.
